Festival of Lights

Every year, the Mission Inn puts on a beautiful display of Christmas lights. Even though we literally live only a few minutes away from these spectacular lights, this is the first year we actually walked around and marvelled at the display. What took us so long?! I guess we were waiting for Miss Kylie!

Why I Love Being a Mommy

*I get to see my baby's first smiles in the morning
  *I get to be the first one to witness the milestones
        (grabbing for toys ON PURPOSE, giggling)
*My baby holds me when she eats
*I get to be with my baby every day
*We share sweet moments every day

This week some friends and I got together for a playdate. We had a great time chatting and watching our kiddos. I didn't have my camera, but my lovely friend Danica sent me some pics from our shindig:

This has been a busy week for little Miss Kylie. She's had a chance to visit all her boyfriends! J/K. BUT, she has been visiting many of her BOY friends.

We also went to visit the Leonard Family. I set Kylie down on the couch to put Nicole's Moby Wrap on. I wasn't quite sure how to use it because I use the Sleepy Wrap and they are a little different. While Nicole was helping me, she set Christian down next to Kylie on the other side of the couch, but when we turned around, Christian was moving ever so slightly towards Kylie.

Halloween Weekend

We started off the weekend by taking our precious Kylie to the pumpkin patch.

A Typical Day

Here is some insight as to what a typical day looks like in the Gomez household:

Daddy leaves the house to go to work around 4ish.
I usually wake up whenever Kylie wakes up which is usually around 8 or 9, which may seem late, but I wake up about 3 times a night to pump or feed Kylie.
When Kylie wakes up, she eats.
Then:

She has tummy time

When she gets tired of tummy time, either she rolls herself over (or I give her a little nudge) and she plays with her activity gym friends. I balance my time by playing with her and getting ready for the day.



I change her (first set of clothes).
She enjoys hanging out on her changing table.
Then she eats again...



We go downstairs and she chills on the couch while I put the SleepyWrap on.

I put her in the SleepyWrap so she can take a nap and I can get my chores done

After her nap, she eats....(look at the size of that tummy!!)
Then she plays on her bouncy seat.
Now I can start working on dinner...
(By the way, she's on her 3rd outfit. The 1st one got
spit up on it, the 2nd one was peed on.)

Daddy comes home.
She eats again...
I work on dinner while Kylie and daddy play.

After dinner, we have family time which Bella likes to get in on...
Then, Kylie eats AGAIN....

We all head upstairs and daddy gives Kylie a bath.
(This is also my free time so I get to take my shower while daddy and Kylie bond.)

Finally, after bath time, Kylie eats one last time, we pray together, and then it's off to bed.

Reunited

      Today, Kylie and I went to Adams to visit the staff and my former students. Kylie was the star of the show! I meant to take a picture..I even took the camera out...but in my forgetful state, I put the camera right back where it came from, without ever taking a picture of my students and Kylie! (I blame my memory loss on recently having a baby.) My students were so excited to finally see the baby. Last year they had given me a baby shower and they even named their tables after Kylie...(We Love Baby Gomez, Baby Gomez Rocks, etc.) Kylie was well loved by my students before she was even out of the womb.
     It was also really nice to see Adams' staff. (The staff had also given me a generous baby shower.) Kylie and I had lunch with 4 of the teachers and we had a great time chatting about school, babies, and life. I also got to sit in the lounge with the primary grade teachers and chat with them also. It was nice to be back home, but I wouldn't trade it for the time I get to spend with my little girl!

I know...strange title. However, I don't get a whole lot of time to blog because all Kylie want to do is EAT! SO...I have to blog about what's been going on all at once.
My friend, Emily, has been incredibly AMAZING! She has been supportive during my breastfeeding experience and has given me much of her time. Every time she visits we get to see her sweet baby girl, Aubrey too!


While Kylie cried her head off, Aubrey thought it would be funny to "cry" too!

This past week we also went to the fair with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Jamie. It wasn't as hot as I thought it was going to be and we had a GREAT time!

A Celebrity in the Family

I have an amazing father-in-law! Not only is he good to me and my husband and is a wonderful grandfather, but he is also a hero! He is widely known as the SWAT sergeant who "wore the shorts" during the North Hollywood shootout. On Friday, September 24, he was given a special retirement ceremony. He was on many different news broadcasts and Kylie made it too! Check the video out...it tells about my WONDERFUL father-in-law- Sergeant Steve Gomez!

Doctors and Zombies

I've been pretty slow at putting up a new post. I didn't realize I'd be a walking zombie once Kylie came to join us in this world! I've been getting little sleep...Who knew newborns could eat so much?! We've also gone to see a lactation consultant every week...although Kylie likes to eat a lot, she is a lazy eater...she falls asleep EVERY time and I have a hard time keeping her up, which of course, frustrates me a little bit because that's less sleep for me. If you have any advice on how to keep her up, let me know! We've also been to check up appointments for Kylie as well as some unexpected visits- she's had an upper respiratory problem, which the doctors tell us is normal. Despite all the doctor's appointments, Kylie's been pretty patient.

Poopie Diapers, Crying, and Pictures Galore

It seems like all Matt and I do is change diapers, soothe Kylie, try to sleep whenever we can, and take pictures by the hundreds! We managed to take some cute pics we wanted to share!
