Easter!

We had a fantastic Easter this year! We started off by going to a wonderful church service at our church, The Vine. The teaching focused on God sending his son to die for our sins and his resurrection. His resurrection! How many times have I celebrated Easter and really focused on the importance of the day? I am ashamed to say that this year is my first year REALLY and TRULY understanding the importance. Yes, I've recognized that God has risen and we are atoned for our sins because of Him, but this year was different. I don't know how to quite explain it, other than my heart and mind were humbled this year. I hope yours was too and that Jesus is in your heart.

After church, we went to my in-laws, otherwise known as Grandma and Grandpa Gomez. Kylie practiced her standiing skills:

And she was loved on by Grandma and Grandpa Gomez:

We had a delicious Easter dinner that my wonderful mother-in-law made which included ham, potatoes, salad, corn, and bread (not to mention the delicious apple pie dessert).

While Kylie took her nap, my amazing husband livened Easter up by creating a fun Easter egg hunt!...adults only. There were 2 rounds. The first took place in the front yard:

I see a little Kylie in Grandpa's face...

Matt told us the stepstool was there if we needed it...

Gotta get that egg!

Kidnapping!

With Matt hiding the eggs, you never know where they might be...

Round 1 over!...and the winner is.....

I don't know if you can really call me the winner though...some of the
eggs had nails and screws. Remember...Matt hid the eggs AND
filled them...

The LOSERS:

After Round 1, we went inside to color some eggs:

Then, it was off to Round 2 of our Easter Egg hunt in the backyard:

Some of the eggs were filled with dirt, trash bags, peanut butter,
and egg yolk! Yuck! That Matt...

But one egg had a clue for the MEGA Prize!!

And the winner is:

No, I did not cheat! The prize included Whoppers, Reese's Pieces, M & M's
and a giant Lipton Iced Tea. Don't worry...I shared.

We had a fantastic time and I'm grateful my husband is weird, crazy, and spunky!

Hope your Easter was as fun and crazy as ours was!
